Mary Jane Baxter Workshop
We are delighted to announce that Mary Jane Baxter will be attending the next Wanstead Vintage Fashion & Brocante Fair on 28 February to run a series of workshops. You’ll be able to make a Paper Flower Fascinator for the amazing price of £5.00 which covers all materials needed and includes entry into the fair.
We will be running three workshops throughout the day with a maximum of 10 in each workshop so it would be good to reserve your place early.
If you would like to reserve a space (payment made on day) please email fair (at) lovevintage.co.uk. Mary Jane will also be selling her books and a collection of vintage Fairisle knitwear.
Mary Jane Baxter is a writer, broadcaster, milliner and maker. She’s the author of two books The Modern Girlʼs Guide to Hatmaking and Chic on a Shoestring (Kyle Books). Mary Jane appeared alongside Paul Martin on the popular BBC 2 craft series Paul Martinʼs Handmade Revolution and previously presented a series of reports on the ʻmake-do and mend trendʼ for BBC Newsnight. Until recently, Mary Jane was a monthly style columnist for Homes & Antiques magazine and taught millinery at The Kensington and Chelsea College in London for three years.
In Spring 2015 Mary Jane will be taking her Mobile Makery (a craft studio on wheels) on a four month tour of Europe writing and blogging during her journey. She’ll create a series of projects inspired by treasures unearthed in flea-markets along the way and visit towns and cities with links to Europe’s rich textile heritage.
